How to deploy a Laravel app
Laravel runs here when you build it locally and upload the result. These steps work on every plan, without SSH. Full limits are in the technical table below.
The steps
On your computer, run composer install --no-dev --optimize-autoloader and build your front-end assets. Zip the whole project, vendor folder included, and upload it with File Manager to a folder next to public_html, for example domains/yourdomain.in/laravel, then extract it.
Copy the contents of Laravel's public folder into public_html and edit the two paths in public_html/index.php so they point to ../laravel/vendor/autoload.php and ../laravel/bootstrap/app.php. Your code and .env stay outside the web root.
Create the database in the panel, put its details in .env, import your schema in phpMyAdmin, and add a cron job for php artisan schedule:run every minute. Set the domain's PHP version to what your Laravel release needs.
Check before you deploy
- APP_ENV=production and APP_DEBUG=false in .env
- storage and bootstrap/cache writable
- Queues: use the database driver with a cron-run worker
- The domain's PHP version matches your composer.json
- Take a backup before every upload

Which PHP versions are available?
You pick the version in the DirectAdmin PHP selector, from PHP 5.6 up to PHP 8.5. New accounts start on PHP 8.1, so switch to 8.3 or newer for current Laravel.
Can I host a Laravel app on shared hosting?
Yes. Build it locally with composer, upload it with the vendor folder, keep the code outside public_html and point public_html/index.php at it. Add a cron job for the scheduler. The steps are on this page.
Is Composer or SSH available?
SSH is on the Unlimited plan only. Composer is not preinstalled: on Unlimited you can run composer.phar over SSH. On Basic and Professional, run composer on your own computer and upload the vendor folder.
Can I run cron jobs?
Yes, from the DirectAdmin panel, down to once a minute.
Can I run Node.js or Python here?
This page covers PHP. Ask us on WhatsApp before ordering for a Node.js or Python app, and we will tell you honestly whether it fits shared hosting or needs a VPS.
What if it is not right for me?
